At present, radiotherapy instruments widely used in medicine can only outline the location of tumors, and it is easy to accidentally injure other tissues and organs during radiotherapy, which is far from the demand for treatment of current patients. At present, China's radiotherapy equipment and technology are monopolized by several major foreign manufacturers, and the current situation of radiotherapy is difficult to see and treat. It is extremely urgent to develop advanced radiotherapy software products with independent intellectual property rights.
The research and development team of the Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences creatively applied the theory and technology of neutron transport calculation to the fields of medicine and medicine, and studied the key physics and technology of precision radiotherapy, breaking through the rapid and accurate calculation of human dose and the reverse optimization of treatment plan. Key technical difficulties such as tumor location and tracking, human dose verification, etc., solved the sub-millimeter positioning of tumor lesions and improved the effect of radiotherapy. On this basis, the team's self-developed "modulation and precision radiotherapy planning system" achieved precision control with less than 2% dose error and submillimeter tumor location.
