Euonymus japonicus is a common hedgerow plant in landscaping, but due to the occurrence of powdery mildew, it is easy to reduce its ornamental quality. The occurrence rules and control measures of powdery yellow powderybug are described as follows:

First, the harm symptoms

Powdery mildew mainly damages the leaves of Euonymus japonicus, and the lesions are mostly distributed on the leaf surface of Euonymus japonicus and also on the back of leaves. At the beginning, many small white patches scattered on the leaves, gradually expanded and merged into each other to become irregular large spots. The young leaves and new shoots of Euonymus japonicus are the most vulnerable. In severe cases, the diseased leaves shrink, the branches become distorted, and they die. When the white powder layer on the surface of the lesion was wiped off by hand, a yellow round spot appeared on the lesion site.

Second, the incidence of the law and the transmission route

The powdery mildew is caused by F. oxysporum. The pathogenic bacteria overwinter in the host's buds or conidia on diseased leaves. In late spring, a large number of conidia are produced in the leaves and growing stages of Euonymus japonicus, and infection is transmitted through the air flow and becomes the source of the bacteria for the initial infection of the disease. The pathogenic bacteria in the leaves of the Euonymus japonicus leaves and the growth phase of the parasitic. Powdery mildew can be attacked from spring to autumn. Warm and dry weather conditions are conducive to disease occurrence. The condition of 20 °C to 30 °C is most conducive to the germination of conidia. Third, prevention and control measures

1. Physical control. When planting, it should be planted in a place with high topography, dryness, sufficient sunlight, and no water, and the soil should be deep and fertile. In fertilizer and water management, phosphorus and potash fertilizers should be added to control the amount of nitrogen fertilizer to enhance plant disease resistance. Combine pruning, cut diseased branches and diseased leaves, and burn them together. During the growing season, diseased leaves and diseased branches are found and must be timely cut off and burned. This can effectively reduce the initial infestation and re-infestation of pathogens.
