Wild barracudas are distributed in the brackish water interchange at the coastal estuary of our country. The variety has strong adaptability to salinity and temperature. Usually juveniles adapt to the salinity range of 0-38 ‰, can live in seawater, brackish water and fresh water. The range of water temperature adaptation is 3-35 °C, and the suitable water temperature range is 12-25 °C. When the water temperature is lower than -0.7 °C, it will stop feeding. Many years of aquaculture practice has proved that barracuda is a new breed of aquaculture with fast growth, strong adaptability, good resistance to stress, small investment in aquaculture, and a popular market. Therefore, in the structural adjustment of the aquaculture industry, farmers should make full use of ponds, reservoirs, and other waters to develop a large-scale fish culture.
I. Fry transportation and cultivation
1. Transportation of fish fry The transportation of barracuda fry is generally conducted from the beginning of May to the middle of June. Many farmers in the Mainland purchase seedlings from barracuda breeding grounds in the coastal areas, and vehicles for transporting seedlings are ordinary vans or agricultural transport vehicles. The fry is usually packaged in a self-made double-layer plastic film bag (commonly known as "oxygen bag"). Each bag contains 3500-4000 tails (0.25-0.3 cm in length) of juvenile fish. After sufficient oxygen, the plastic bag is then loaded into paper. In the box. During the transportation, check the fry activity once every 10-12 hours, and add oxygen to the few oxygen-deficient bags in time. After the fish are transported to their destinations, they are put into concrete pools or large pots, respectively, and use unpolluted tap water or river water. Before the release of the fry, the fry was soaked in 2%-3% saline for 2 minutes before entering the pool.
2. The fry was raised and fed with cooked eggs on the 2nd day after hatching. The feed was fed every 4 hours. After 1 week, it was fed with bean cakes and fishmeal. Fishmeal is prone to bubble disease in fry and should be fed as little as possible. After 1 month, it is put into ponds and other waters for cultivation.
3. Daily management Every 10 days, drain 10 cm of sewage from the bottom of the pool and add fresh water. Every 15 days with 110 (the negative 6th power) concentration of bleaching Quanchiposa spill prevention and disease prevention, every 10 days sample inspection fry body weight and body length to understand the growth and development.
Second, adult fish breeding
1. Pond conditions The pond area is generally 0.33-1 hectares, with convenient water intake and drainage, adequate water supply, excellent water quality, water depth of about 1.5 meters, and better sediment quality. Reservoirs for barracudas have the best ecological environment with pools and grasses.
2. Fertilizer fry should be cleared of pond's excessive silt before stocking. Then, every 0.067 hectares are disinfected with quick-lime 100 kilograms of clear ponds, and clear water is injected. The water depth is 0.5-1 meters, and 200 kg of organic manure is used. After 1 week, the toxicity of quicklime disappeared, and when the water became slightly green (about 25cm in water transparency), the fry could be put into the pond for culture. The reservoir farms barracudas, usually with a fertigation point every 50 meters in shallow water and about 300 kg per 0.067 hectare.
3. In most regions of China where fish fry were released, the water temperature increased in mid-June, and fish fry were started when pond water plankton formed a peak. The fish was soaked with 3% saline for 5 minutes prior to release for fish disinfection. Each 0.067 hectare is mixed with 600 fish ponds and 1200-1500 tail fish ponds, with a specification of 4- to 5-cm.
4. Feed Feeding Under the premise of maintaining a certain degree of fatness in the aquaculture water body, one feed table (1.5 square meters) per 0.067 hectare is set at a depth of 30-50 cm below the water surface. The feed table is woven with bamboo rods, and the dense mesh yarn is sewn with a slightly concave center and a slightly higher circumference. The fry was fed on the second day after stocking. The applause or beating sounds when feeding, to form a conditional reflex to lure the fish to feed. When feeding, it is necessary to achieve "Four Sets," namely: timing, quantitative, fixed-point, and qualitative. Every day at 9 a.m., it feeds 40% of the whole day's feed, and at 4 o'clock, it feeds 60%. At the same time, it should also be combined with the water temperature, weather, fish specifications, foraging conditions and other comprehensive factors to grasp the amount of feeding, so that neither waste, but also allow the fish to eat. The main varieties to be fed are rice bran, bean cake, peanut cake, cotton cake, tea seed cake, and wheat bran.
5. Water Management China's central and western regions, the water temperature is still low in June, pool water should be maintained at about 1 meter, in order to facilitate warming. As the water temperature rises and the fish body increases, fresh water should be filled once every 10 days, about 10 centimeters each time, until it reaches the maximum water body for culture.
Afterwards, water changes and water injections will be changed in time according to the changes in water quality, so as to keep the water fresh and have sufficient dissolved oxygen. Change the water before the first row of post-injection, each exchange of water should not exceed 10 cm. Such as disinfection and disease prevention, a lime splash once a month, the concentration of 1510 (negative 6th power). During the cultivation of barracuda, it is also necessary to strengthen the inspection of the pond to prevent floating heads, prevent damage to the dam, and prevent the harm of predators and aquatic plants.
Third, fishing
In general, barracuda culture can be harvested for one year, but the body weight is only about 150 grams, and it grows faster in the second year. The fish can weigh 650-1200 grams.
The methods used for barracuda fishing include: thin-net fishing (capturing large and small, gradually listing), water fishing (usually the fishing method used in Qingtang), and trawling. When producers catch barracuda, they should choose different methods based on their own needs and market conditions.
