According to the 12th Five-Year Plan for National Drug Safety, drug safety is a major issue for people's livelihood and public safety. It concerns the physical health and social stability of the people. Although the drug safety situation has significantly improved in recent years, public drug demand has been basically met, and drug safety supervision capacity has increased significantly, but irrational drug use has become more serious. Counterfeit and shoddy drugs have not been eliminated, and drug safety risks remain high. Therefore, we must further strengthen drug safety work to provide a strong guarantee for the health of the people.

Recently, the China Non-prescription Drug Association, China Pharmaceutical Association, China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, China Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry Association, China Pharmaceutical Business Association, China Association of Chinese Medicine, Chinese Medical Association, Chinese Association of Licensed Pharmacists, China Association of Chinese Medicine Newspapers and Periodicals, China Pharmaceutical Corporation The "Pharmaceutical Safety Cooperation Alliance" project jointly initiated by 11 industry associations and units, such as the Management Association and the Southern Medical Economic Research Institute, was officially launched. After nearly one year of organizational preparation, the Drug Safety Cooperation Coalition was formally established on November 28, 2012. The president of the Association of Non-prescription Medicines in China, Bai Huiliang, serves as the chairman of the Alliance.

It is understood that the main purpose of the alliance is to give full play to and mobilize the strength and resources of all sectors of the society, assist the government and draw on the mature experience and cases in international related fields to help patients and consumers increase their awareness of safe drug use and prevention of counterfeit or counterfeit drugs. , raise the level of drug safety and promote health.

The establishment of the Drug Safety Cooperation Coalition will assist and support the government in better fulfilling the objectives of drug safety and safe drug use for all citizens; it will build a platform for sharing drug safety resources, give full play to their respective functional advantages, and carry out relevant work; Relevant organizations and individuals have actively joined the alliance to jointly promote the development of safe drug use in China.

According to the requirements of the "Joint Convention on Drug Safety Cooperation," the alliance's main tasks will include: helping the public to increase awareness and awareness of drug safety and the importance of safe drug use; pass relevant information to practitioners in social retail pharmacies and primary care institutions; and gradually Carry out public welfare activities involving drug safety and safe drug use.
