A few days ago, the 2017 Tariff Adjustment Plan was reviewed and approved at the 7th plenary meeting of the State Council Customs Tariff Commission and submitted to the State Council for approval. It will be implemented from January 1, 2017.
The adjustment plan will adjust the import and export tariffs of some commodities, including a number of medical device products.
This is not the first time that the relevant state agencies have adjusted the tax rate. In September this year, the State Council Customs Tariff Commission implemented the first tax reduction for the MFN rate of 201 products, including 30-degree medical device products.
According to the 2017 Tariff Adjustment Plan, the first tax reduction benefit from September 2016 will continue to be implemented from January 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017. However, as of July 1, 2017, the MFN rate for related products will initiate a second tax reduction.
