Pharmacological effects
1. Antitussive effect
Aristolochiae has a significant antitussive effect on the ammonium hydroxide spray induced cough model, and its strength is comparable to that of codeine phosphate.
2. Asthma effect
Aristolochic ethanol extract 0.5ml (2g/ml) can significantly inhibit 0.5ml of histamine (10g/ml) induced guinea pig quiescent tracheal smooth muscle, indicating that it has a certain anti-asthmatic effect.
3. Effect
The determination of mucus secretion in the respiratory tract of anesthetized rabbits demonstrated that oral aristolochic decoction (1 g/kg) had a weak expectorant effect and was not as effective as asters and araceae.
4. Anti-inflammatory effect
Effects on capillary permeability of mice: Aristolochic 10 g/kg significantly inhibited the increase of capillary permeability of mice induced by 20 μg/intradermal injection of histamine (50 μg/ml).
5. Antibacterial effect
In vitro test Aristolochic infusion (1:4) has a certain inhibitory effect on common dermatophytes. The fruit and leaves of Fresh Northern Aristolochia sinensis have inhibitory effects on Staphylococcus aureus in vitro. The effect of the fruit is stronger than that of the leaf, and it is still effective after removing the tannin.
6. The role of blood pressure
Aristolochia Miltiorrhiza has a mild and long-lasting antihypertensive effect, which is applicable to the earlier hypertension preparations and their usage varies from place to place, and their effects are slightly different.
