Emulsions are also known as emulsions, but emulsions are high in viscosity and are often called emulsions. The emulsion is a heterogeneous dispersion system in which at least one liquid is uniformly dispersed in the form of liquid beads in another liquid which is immiscible with it. The main components of emulsion cosmetics are oil, water, emulsifiers and additives.
Types of emulsion: O/W type, W/O type, multiple emulsions, microemulsions, etc. According to the use or performance of the product, it can be divided into various pastes (hard texture), frost (soft texture) and honey or milk. Semi-solid is called cream, and fluid is called honey or milk.
Preparation of emulsion cosmetics:
In the research and development stage, the preparation of the emulsion generally requires pretreatment of the oil phase and the water phase, respectively. That is, it is necessary to fully melt or dissolve the ingredients at a certain temperature (about 80 ÌŠC) (heating plate, mixer). Finally, the prepared aqueous phase and oil phase are added to the emulsification pot in a certain order and proportion, and stirred and emulsified for a certain period of time under a certain temperature (70-80 ÌŠC).

A, bubble problem. Generally, in homogeneous emulsification, since the homogenization speed is very high, it is easy to bring air bubbles into the emulsion. The introduction of bubbles may affect product density, physical stability of the product and accelerate product oxidation;
B, low speed stirring. Keep the speed low to minimize the introduction of air bubbles;
C, emulsification temperature. Temperature control during emulsification has a great influence on the emulsification effect. If the temperature is too low, the emulsifier has low solubility and the emulsification effect is poor; otherwise, energy is wasted.
