Last week, Ralph Lauren began selling its line of shirts PoloTech, which has built-in tracking sensors from its partner Omsignal. Users can purchase shirts on August 27th through their website or flagship store NYC or the company's US public store in New York.
PoloTech shirts add silver fiber to track heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing depth and recovery, exercise intensity, energy output, stress levels, steps and calories. Wearers must wear a "black box" device to receive data from the sensor and capture motion-related data through their accelerometer. The data is then transferred to the iOS app PoloTech running. Apps can be installed on Apple iWatch, iPhone or iPod Touch.
The device also offers a variety of fitness training catalogs designed by Galvanized, including heart, agility and strength training. The data from the shirt sensor adapts the app's video to the wearer's ability in real time. The performance of the training has set the stage for the strength of the next step, and the company said it will provide more than 10,000 personalized training combinations. The app provides fitness tracking, as well as sports and fitness reports and reviews.
