The reporter learned from the Office of the Food Safety Commission of the State Council today: In order to supervise all localities to fully implement the 2011 food safety priorities, the eight inspection teams made up of members of the State Council's Food Safety Committee have begun to supervise and inspect the food safety situation of all provinces, regions and cities across the country this year.
It is understood that the main contents of the supervision and inspection include the improvement of local food safety supervision and management mechanisms, the implementation of special actions to combat the illegal addition and abuse of food additives, the investigation of milk powder for settlement, the strengthening of waste oil remediation, and the management of restaurant waste. Strictly crack down on food safety violations and crimes, comprehensive management of key products such as dairy products, establishment of a food safety information disclosure system, publicity and education on food safety, establishment of a food safety prize reporting system, and corporate implementation of the main responsibilities and other ten key aspects.
The supervision and inspection will highlight such measures as random sampling and unannounced visits, check food safety at all levels, especially at the grassroots level, and verify the establishment and implementation of relevant systems for production and business operators and supervisory and law enforcement agencies. For the slow progress and the discovery of problems, supervise the deadline for rectification.
